I’m a little offended

I wasn’t invited

But I can understand

My heart needs a vacation

from me every now and then.

I can be very demanding

The angry conductor

needs a steady beat

24 hours a day.

It’s unfair to cause

my heart to lose sleep

It is overworked and

underpaid

As am I.
